Step by step method

  • Step 1

    Cut the carrots and onions into not very large pieces, then fry a little in vegetable oil until golden brown.

    Cut the mushrooms into small pieces and throw them into the pan with the vegetables. When frying, juice will stand out from the mushrooms, let them boil a little in it.

    When the liquid has evaporated, add the chopped cabbage. The shape of the pieces is not important. They can be large or small, whichever you prefer.

    Chop the tomatoes arbitrarily, but not too large. Send the tomatoes to the pan. They will give the dish extra sourness.

    Now it's time to prepare the sauce. To do this, mix ketchup, water, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Pour the mixture into the pan with the main ingredients.

    Stew a vegetable snack under a closed lid. Only when the cabbage becomes soft enough, add finely chopped garlic to it. Mix the contents of the pan well and keep on fire for another 3 minutes. If there is too much sauce, open the lid and turn up the heat a little so that the excess liquid evaporates. If, on the contrary, the sauce has boiled away too early, then add a little ordinary water.

    Cabbage dish with mushrooms is ready. You can season it with sour cream and eat it with bread, serve it as a side dish for cutlets, baked meat or chops. This recipe makes an excellent filling for savory homemade cakes.
