At first glance, it may seem that baked stuffed zucchini rings in the oven are too simple and ordinary dish. But actually it is not. Such a light meat appetizer is not only perfect for a snack and a family dinner, but also decorates a festive feast.

The dish is prepared very simply, but it looks original. Both vegetable lovers and meat lovers will appreciate such a treat. Here and minced meat, and tender zucchini soaked in meat juices, and baked cheese crust.

In the recipe for lubricating the blanks, sour cream was used. It can be replaced with mayonnaise, unsweetened yogurt and even an ordinary egg.

Step by step method

  • Step 1

    We collect products according to the list. Zucchini should be taken young with soft seeds and thin skin that does not need to be peeled.

  • Step 2

    Wash the zucchini well and cut into thick rings 3-4 centimeters high. With a teaspoon, select a part of the pulp so that it looks like a cup. We leave the bottom about a centimeter.

    Top with a little sour cream. We cut the tomatoes into small cubes and lay them on the blanks in a slide.

    Sprinkle shredded cheese on top. We put in the oven for 30-35 minutes (or until cooked) at 170 degrees.

    Zucchini with minced meat in the oven with cheese are ready. It can be served both hot and as a cold appetizer. As a side dish, boiled rice or spaghetti is best.

  • It is advisable to take young zucchini - they are most suitable in terms of taste and appearance. It is not necessary to remove the skin from them. In size, it is desirable to take medium vegetables.

  • If old vegetables are used for cooking, they must be peeled from thick skins.

  • Since zucchini is 90% liquid, excess moisture must be removed. To do this, the circles must be salted and left for 20 minutes. Then drain the juice that stands out.

  • Any minced meat is suitable for filling (pork, beef, chicken, mixed). It can be supplemented with squash pulp, rice, grated carrots, mushrooms.

  • Hard cheese will give the appetizer a special piquancy. It can be grated on a fine grater or simply cut into slices and put on top of each circle.

  • You can emphasize the taste of the snack with such spices: oregano, basil and thyme.
