Step by step method

  • Place minced meat in a deep bowl. Its composition can be different, according to your taste and preferences. Add an egg, some paprika, pepper, salt. You can also add carrots, zucchini, garlic, any vegetables at will.

  • Mix thoroughly, you can beat off a little to remove air, if desired.

  • Cut off a piece of foil about 30 centimeters in length. We spread the minced meat, forming a roll out of it.

  • Carefully wrap the meatloaf in foil. We put the formed roll seam up on a baking sheet and put it into the oven, preheated to 200 degrees.

  • After 30 minutes (depending on the type of meat, pork and beef need to be baked longer), open the edges of the foil and bake for another 5-10 minutes.

  • Take the baked minced meat out of the oven and let it cool down a bit. We remove the foil, and cut the meatloaf into thin slices.

  • Serve with your favorite side dish, vegetables and herbs. The dish is juicy, tender and very fragrant.

Tips & variations

  • For the preparation of meatloaf, you can use minced meat from any type of meat, as long as it is not very fatty.

  • You can add eggs, mushrooms, cheese, vegetables to the filling.

  • When starting to cook a dish baked in foil (meat or chicken), consider the features of your oven and be guided by the cooking time according to it, and not according to what is written in the recipe. If you are preparing a dish for the first time, follow a few helpful tips: divide the total cooking time by 4; every quarter of the total time, open the oven and check the degree of readiness of the dish; do not be afraid to unfold the foil for a more accurate check; to make it easier to unfold the foil, always leave a "seam" on it from above; if you wish, you can determine the degree of readiness without unfolding the foil, making one or two punctures in it with a toothpick; remember that the quality of the foil also matters.

  • The meat pie is delicious both hot and cold.
