If you’re not ready to spend a lot of time and effort on baking at home, try this tried and tested recipe. According to it, the roll always turns out tender – it just melts in your mouth!

What is the secret of this recipe? The roll is baked in parchment paper. As a result, the dough is not too lush, but soft and filled with moisture.

Step by step method

  • Step 1

    In warm milk, dissolve the yeast and about a tablespoon of sugar.

    Add 4 tablespoons of flour, mix and leave the dough to infuse.

    When the dough is suitable, add four yolks, 100 g of sugar, pour in vodka. We mix.

  • Step 4

    Pour sifted flour and knead a viscous dough that sticks to your hands.

    Pour in melted butter (150 g). Knead again and leave in a warm place for 1.5 hours to approach.

  • Step 6

    Poppy fill with boiling water and leave to infuse for 30 minutes under the lid. It will absorb water and increase in volume.

  • Step 7

    Beat the swollen poppy with a blender until a milky shade appears. Add sugar (100 g), mix.

  • Step 8

    Grind raisins and nuts, send them to the poppy mass. Pour in melted butter (literally 20 g), flavoring and honey. We mix.

  • Step 9

    Beat egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks. Combine with poppy seeds, gently knead until a homogeneous smooth mass is obtained.

  • Step 10

    The dough, which has already come up well, is divided into 3 identical parts. We roll each into a layer. Spread the poppy seed filling in an even layer on the surface. We turn the roll, pinch the edges, wrap the product with parchment and transfer it to a baking sheet.

  • Step 11

    In the same way we make two more rolls. Bake at 180 degrees for 35-40 minutes. At this time, mix the powdered sugar with hot water until a liquid glaze is obtained. Let the rolls cool, remove the paper and grease with icing sugar.

    Cut into slices and serve to the table. Poppy seed roll according to this recipe is amazingly tasty. The dough is not dry, does not crumble when cut, the filling is soft and uniform. The cake looks just perfect. Baking in parchment paper prevents the dough from overgrowing and cracking.
