Step by step method

  • Step 1

Break the egg into a bowl, add sugar, salt, vanillin and mix with a whisk.

  • Step 2

Add softened butter and stir until smooth.

  • Step 3

We put the cottage cheese and knead again with a whisk or a regular fork until smooth.

  • Step 4

Mix flour with baking powder and send to the base in small parts.

  • Step 5

Knead the dough with your hands. It should be soft and not stick to your hands. We divide into two equal parts.

  • Step 6

We put one part aside, roll the other into a layer 3 mm thick.

  • Step 7

Using a glass or a confectionery ring, cut out circles from the dough with a diameter of 7-7.5 cm. Take three circles and put them overlapping each other. Roll tightly. Cut in half and straighten the petals. From one blank, two roses are obtained. Lay them out on a baking sheet.

  • Step 8

We do the same with the second part of the dough. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven, let cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Delicious and fragrant cottage cheese cookies are ready! It remains only to pour a cup of hot tea.

Tips & variations

  • It is imperative to add the baking powder to the dough, otherwise the Rosochki will not “spread out” during baking.

  • If the dough is soft and moist, sticky, put it in the fridge for a while. Due to the butter, it will harden and become convenient for rolling.

  • Line a baking dish with parchment paper and brush with melted butter.

  • The shape of the cookies is so beautiful, graceful. You can safely serve on the festive table!

  • You can sprinkle the cookies with cinnamon before baking. Then it will acquire a breathtaking aroma.
