Tips & variations

  • Adding a little cream to the dough will make it more airy.

  • Even if you are too lazy to do this, the flour should still be sifted.

  • Carry out the cooking process in a large amount of water, so that the dumplings float freely.

  • To prevent ready-made dumplings from sticking together, transfer them to a plate, immediately add butter or sour cream.

  • Cutting out various figures from a rolled out layer of dough, we get a fun children's version of lazy dumplings.

  • To make less flour, squeeze the cottage cheese well before using.

  • Choose fresh cottage cheese without sourness. Neither sugar nor jam will hide stale curd acid.

  • Granular cottage cheese before adding to the dough is brought to uniformity by rubbing through a sieve or using a blender. This will give the dough a more delicate taste.

  • Watch the cooking process, try not to overcook the dumplings, otherwise they will lose their taste.

  • It is better to give the blanks the same shape, so they will boil the same way and look more appetizing.
