Step by step method

  • Step 1

Sift flour and baking powder into a bowl. Pour salt there, pour in kefir, vegetable oil.

  • Step 2

Knead soft dough. We wrap it in a film or bag and leave it in the fridge for an hour.

  • Step 3

We cut the mushrooms into 4-6 parts and send them to fry in a dry hot frying pan. All the liquid should evaporate from the mushrooms, but they should not be overdried.

  • Step 4

We clean the onions, wash them, chop them into thin straws or half rings. Add to mushrooms.

  • Step 5

Fry for a few minutes until the onion becomes soft. Then add thyme, ground black pepper and coriander.

  • Step 6

In a separate container, mix sour cream with an egg, and then with paprika until a homogeneous sauce.

  • Step 7

We roll out the chilled dough into a layer, transfer it to a baking dish, form the sides and lay out the fried mushrooms.

  • Step 8

We align the filling over the entire surface, and pour the egg fill onto the base evenly.

  • Step 9

Sprinkle with grated hard cheese and lay the tomato halves on top. Bake at 180-200 degrees for about 40 minutes.

  • Step 10

Can be served either hot or completely chilled. Pieces of the pie perfectly keep their shape and do not fall apart when cutting. And it's insanely delicious, just try to bake it once and you will fall in love forever!

Tips & variations

  • The dough for the jellied pie can be prepared from any products that are at hand: kefir, sour cream, mayonnaise, yogurt. It should have a fairly dense consistency, since the filling in this recipe is not the dough, but the sour cream-egg mixture.

  • As for the filling, the scope of imagination is unlimited. You can add any vegetables to the mushrooms: sweet pepper, zucchini, eggplant, potatoes, cabbage. If you eat meat, chicken fillet goes well with mushrooms.

  • This recipe can be used as a base for sweet pies. Just add sugar to the dough and sour cream and egg mixture, and exclude hot spices. As a filling, fresh berries and fruits, dried fruits and nuts, jam are suitable.

  • Fish lovers can treat themselves to a jellied fish pie. In this case, you do not have to spend time preparing the filling. Just opened a jar of canned food and put it on the dough.

The dish is not prepared very quickly, but it is so delicious that it is definitely worth tinkering with. The aroma of tomatoes, champignons and cheese is stunning in the kitchen. It is convenient to give my daughter lunch at school, also a plus).

Tasty ruddy pies were able to decorate any feast. They were baked for all holidays, weddings, christenings. And during the days of strict fasts these pastries were an excellent substitute for meat dishes. For the stuffing it is better to take freshly picked boletuses, chanterelles, wild boletuses or chanterelles. Before cutting, they are cleaned of earth and forest debris and washed well. But if it is not in season, store-bought oyster mushrooms and mushrooms are quite suitable.
