Not everyone knows, but such a simple dish as stuffed chinese cabbage rolls has a complex and even confusing history. Ask who invented stuffed cabbage and you will hear many different opinions. For example:

In any case, no matter where cabbage rolls come from, no one will deny that it is very tasty. You can cook them in different ways, for example, instead of ordinary cabbage, use Peking cabbage.

Step by step method
Cut off the thick part (it can be used for other dishes or twisted with meat). Disassemble the leaves, choose the largest and most beautiful.
Slightly beat off the thickened edges with a hammer, pour boiling water over the leaves and boil for just a couple of minutes. Drain water, cool.
Cut the meat into small pieces for a meat grinder, peel the carrots and onions.
Onion cut into small cubes, fry in vegetable oil until soft.
Add grated carrots and fry vegetables until golden brown.
Grind the meat, add raw washed rice, part of the frying, salt, pepper if desired. Dilute the tomato in water, add salt.

To prepare cabbage rolls, you need to buy a good and always large head of Chinese cabbage, so that it is convenient to wrap the stuffing.
If you do not want to boil the leaves of Chinese cabbage, just soak them in boiling water for 5-6 minutes.
For cabbage rolls, almost any stuffing is suitable. But lean meats like chicken are best mixed with a little more fatty meat so that the stuffing doesn't come out too dry. You can also add butter or cream for juiciness.
To diversify the taste of the dish, replace rice with buckwheat, lentils, pearl barley or any other cereal.
