Every housewife asks the same question every day: how to feed her husband and children? Everyday dishes are already boring, and I want to please the household a little with something unusually tasty. Oven baked potatoes with pork are a versatile dish that can be served for lunch or dinner. It always turns out incredibly tasty and never gets bored.

This dish can be prepared not only for dinner, but also for a gala event. On the one hand, it is easy to prepare, on the other hand, it has a great rich taste and aroma. In any case, it will help to feed a large company without much effort.

Optionally, the recipe can be supplemented with any vegetables. Suitable bell pepper, zucchini, eggplant. In winter – any frost.

Step by step method

  • Step 1

    We cut the pork into small pieces and put it in a deep bowl for marinating.

  • Step 2

    Add mayonnaise, salt, seasoning, lemon juice passed through a press and finely chopped garlic clove to the meat.

  • Step 3

    Mix everything well, put a couple of bay leaves on top and leave to marinate for 20-30 minutes.

  • Step 4

    Peel potatoes, wash well and cut into small pieces. Transfer to a large deep bowl.

  • Step 5

    Now we clean the big onion. Cut it in half and chop it randomly. Add to potatoes.

  • Step 6

    We do the same with young carrots: clean, wash and cut into thin halves of circles. We send to other vegetables.

  • Step 7

    Pour the prepared products with vegetable oil, sprinkle with salt, pepper and dried basil. Mix well.

  • Step 8

    Put the vegetable mass in an even layer in a baking dish, put a bay leaf on top. Pour in some clean water.

  • Step 9

    Spread marinated meat and pieces of butter on top of the potatoes.

  • Step 10

    Sprinkle with chopped fresh dill, cover with foil. Poke holes in it with a wooden toothpick. We send the dish to the oven, which we preheat to 200-220 degrees. Bake for at least 50 minutes.

  • Step 11

    A few minutes before cooking, remove the foil and return the dish back to brown a little.

  • Step 12

    Lay the cooked potatoes with pork on plates and serve hot. You can add a salad of fresh vegetables in summer or delicious preservation in winter.

Tips & variations

  • In addition to meat and potatoes, finely chopped prunes can be added here. It will give the dish a fruity sourness. It can be mixed with pork or laid out in a separate layer on top of the meat.

  • It will turn out very tasty if the meat is pre-marinated in onions and spices, and then laid out in a single layer on the potatoes.

  • You can not spread the meat and potatoes in layers, but mix everything and put it in a mold.

  • Since the degree of salinity, sweetness, bitterness, sharpness, acidity, pungency is individual for each, always add spices, spices and seasonings, focusing on your taste!

  • Any heat-resistant form will work for this recipe. If you use a silicone mold, then you do not need to coat it with butter or margarine. But it is better to lightly grease metal, ceramic or glassware with vegetable oil so that the pastries do not burn.
