Tips & variations

  • If you add turmeric to rice, then the finished dish will acquire a pleasant golden hue and an unforgettable aroma.

  • Groats are often treated with a mixture of talc and glucose to keep their qualities longer during long-term storage. Therefore, before cooking, rice should be thoroughly washed - at least seven times.

  • Rice should be cooked over low heat. The grains take some time to absorb moisture. And with a strong fire, it will evaporate faster.

  • Do not stir the rice often during the cooking process. Rice can only be stirred until the water boils. Then cover with a lid and cook until all the water has boiled away.

  • After the dish is cooked, open the lid for a couple of minutes to release excess moisture.
