Casserole is a popular dish that is loved for its ease of preparation, taste and variability. After all, casseroles can be curd, fruit, vegetable, meat, fish or mushroom. We suggest cooking rice casserole with chicken. It is prepared from fillet pieces and supplemented with rice, herbs and sprinkled with cheese on top. The binding components for all ingredients are sour cream, cream or milk, which are mixed with eggs.
A casserole with a delicious cheese crust baked in the oven from chicken breast is amazingly tender and fragrant.
Step by step method
Wash the chicken breast. Cut the fillet and cut into small pieces.
Finely chop the green onion stalks. We turn on the oven at 200 degrees.
To cook the casserole in small portions, we buy special foil molds or make them ourselves at home. We line a small container (17 cm x 12.5 cm) with 3 pieces of foil, distributing it on the sides.
We carefully twist the edges and rectangular homemade foil molds are ready. They hold their shape well both when filling and when baking.
Break the eggs into a bowl, add them with garlic powder, ground pepper and salt. Garlic powder gives an amazing aroma and taste, but unlike fresh garlic, it does not burn when baked.
Add cream, milk and mix well.
Spread the prepared meat in an even layer on the bottom of the foil forms, sprinkle with salt and ground pepper.
Sliced green onion is distributed evenly on top.
Fill the molds with boiled rice.
Then transfer them to a baking sheet, pour a mixture of cream, milk and eggs. Put in the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes.
As soon as the liquid mixture thickens and begins to brown slightly, take it out and sprinkle grated cheese on top. Bake for another 10 minutes, remove and let rest for 5 minutes.
We release the delicious fragrant casserole with chicken and rice from the foil. Transfer to plates and serve immediately with fresh or canned vegetables and your favorite bread.
Tips & variations
For a change, the dish can be prepared with pasta, buckwheat, broccoli or cauliflower. Finely chop the boiled vegetables and lay them out like rice, with the top layer.
Using this method, the casserole can be cooked with pork, beef or turkey. If we cook from pork or beef, pre-fry the meat in a pan in oil for about 30 minutes.
Green onions can be replaced with leeks or regular onions.
The casserole will become even juicier if it is supplemented with zucchini and tomatoes. Finely chop fresh vegetables, put on meat with onions and cover with boiled rice.
