Step by step method

  • Step 1

First you need to leave the crab sticks in a warm place for a while so that they defrost. Or use the microwave for this. Then we release them from the packaging. For this salad, cut them into equal cubes.

  • Step 2

Pour the chopped crab sticks into a saucepan or a fairly deep bowl.

  • Step 3

Wash fresh cucumbers, cut off the stem and inflorescence. We cut them into cubes.

  • Step 4

Pour the chopped cucumbers into the dishes for the crab sticks.

  • Step 5

The eggs that we hard-boiled a little earlier will also be cut into cubes, like the previous ingredients.

  • Step 6

Pour them into a bowl where we will mix our salad.

  • Step 7

Add the last ingredient - corn. Drain all the juice from it first. Otherwise, the salad may come out too wet. After all, cucumbers will also give their juice.

  • Step 8

    Add mayonnaise.

  • Step 9

Mix thoroughly, taste, and only after that it may be necessary to salt.

  • Step 10

We shift the salad from the saucepan into a beautiful dish and put it on the table.

Tips & variations

  • Crab sticks are combined with many products: chips, rice, cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese, greens, canned corn and peas, mushrooms, fresh salad, boiled eggs, etc. Each cook can come up with his own salad recipe, choosing ingredients depending on your taste.

  • Using all the ingredients, you can prepare a puff or mixed salad. More time-consuming - puff crab salad.

  • Salads are often dressed with mayonnaise or a complex component sauce. Vegetable and olive oil, soy sauce and wine vinegar, mustard are suitable for dressing a salad of crab sticks.

  • The basis of crab sticks is surimi, which is made from fillet of white cod fish. Usually cod, hake, pollock, blue whiting are taken for their manufacture. Basically, the composition of the product includes starch, vegetable or egg protein.

  • The sticks should be even, juicy, elastic and painted on one side in pink or red, and the main part in white. The gray color indicates that the sticks are made from low-value fish species or more flour was added to the composition during production. A yellow tint is a sign of stale raw materials.
