Step by step method

  • Step 1

Peel the potatoes so that they do not turn black, place in a bowl of cold water. For cooking potatoes according to this recipe, it is recommended to use even and oblong potato tubers.

  • Step 2

In a small bowl melt the butter.

  • Step 3

Pour dry dill into the oil, add chopped garlic, pepper and salt to taste. Mix well.

  • Step 4

Now, along the length of each potato, make cuts with a sharp knife every 2-3 mm. It is not necessary to cut through the potatoes to the very end, you need to leave about 1 cm, otherwise the potatoes will fall apart.

  • Step 5

Dry the already cut potatoes with a towel or napkin.

  • Step 6

Spread each potato on all sides, including cuts, with melted butter and spices. Place the potatoes on a baking sheet greased with the same melted butter. Send for 1 hour in the oven, heated to 180 degrees.

  • Step 7

When the potatoes are golden brown, they are ready.

  • Step 8

Serve the accordion potatoes to the table along with sour cream. Enjoy your meal!

Tips & variations

  • To prepare accordion potatoes, the most important thing is to pick up tubers of the same size and shape, then they will bake evenly.

  • Finely chopped greens - dill, parsley, cilantro - will help turn potato into a festive dish.

  • For children and girls on a diet, you can add cheese to potatoes. For strong, working men, something more satisfying is needed: stuffing in the form of lard or bacon.

  • When baking potato accordions just on a baking sheet, housewives notice that sometimes they turn out to be overdried. This will not happen if you use food foil. Wrap each potato in it, and it will turn out tender and juicy.
