Chicken salad with tomatoes and peking cabbage can completely replace the main course because of its richness and nutritional value. This recipe will also come in handy when planning the original menu for a festive feast.

By the way, you can cook such a salad not only in the summer. Indeed, even in winter, in any supermarket you can buy a couple of tomatoes, sweet peppers and peking cabbage. If desired, you can use ordinary white cabbage.

Step by step method

  • Step 1

We put the necessary products on the table.

  • Step 2

Boil the chicken breast in lightly salted water until tender. Cool completely, cut into small pieces and put in a salad bowl.

  • Step 3

Finely chop the cabbage and pour over the chicken. Cut the boiled egg into small cubes and pour it into the rest of the ingredients.

  • Step 4

We clean the pepper from the seeds inside and cut into strips. Add to common bowl. We send chopped onion there.

  • Step 5

We wash the dill and chop it finely with a knife. Throw it in a salad bowl. At the end, cut the tomato into medium-sized cubes, but put it in a separate plate.

  • Step 6

Salt and pepper. Throw in three tablespoons of peas.

  • Step 7

    We season with mayonnaise.

  • Step 8

We mix the components thoroughly and arrange them in a beautiful plate that can be put on the festive table.

  • Step 9

We decorate the salad along the edges with sprigs of green dill, and in the middle - chopped tomatoes (as in the photo).

  • Step 10

It is advisable to decorate the dish just before serving, so that the tomatoes do not drain and do not make the mass too wet. Then the salad tastes just as wonderful as it looks.

Tips & variations

  • When buying cabbage, pay attention to its appearance. The color of peking cabbage leaves, regardless of shade, should be saturated. The vegetable must be dry, without signs of yellowing, drying. Cabbage leaves are elastic to the touch.

  • If there is an accumulation of condensate in the cling film in which peking cabbage is wrapped, and the cabbage itself does not give the impression of being fresh, then you should not buy it (the cabbage is probably already spoiled or will begin to rot in the near future).

  • If peking cabbage shows slight signs of the beginning of the process of decay, wilting or drying, then it is not recommended to buy it (even if spoiled leaves are removed, the taste of the cabbage will be impaired, and the bacteria that spread through the leaves can harm digestion when they are eaten)

  • Instead of boiled chicken, you can use smoked breast. It pairs perfectly with peking cabbage and gives the salad a savory taste.

  • If you do not use mayonnaise, you can replace it with natural yogurt or olive oil.

  • If desired, a little crackers can be added to such a salad. They will crunch nicely on the tongue.

Juicy Beijing cabbage in salads goes well with many ingredients. If you use, in conjunction with the cabbage, smoked chicken meat, cheese and croutons, the salad turns out just gorgeous. It cooks quickly (all the ingredients are ready, you do not have to boil-fry anything), it tastes very interesting largely due to the smoked chicken and factory bread crumbs, and the cheese gives the treat tenderness.
